Anxiety & Panic Attacks

The Wilson Method for Anxiety & Panic Attacks is revolutionary in its approach, and has been shown to be highly effective.  This is a DIY approach, helping the clients help themselves. Coaching in meditation, body-mind connection awareness training, myo-facial work, breath therapy, and restorative yoga combine for a technique that has been helping to change lives for over 25 years.

Why does physical therapy work for hyper-tension and anxiety?

Anxiety is about the worry of the future: overthinking and wrong thinking. and works like this: We first have an "unhealthy" or "I don't feel safe" thought. Our body then reacts to that thought, by tightening our entire body, starting at the solar plexus (The Unconcious Chronic Valsalva Maneuver). This upper rectus abdominis tension then truncates our breathing and shuts the deep core off. This makes us feel increasingly unstable, which leads to more anxiety.

We then notice that we feel uncomfortable, which tends increase our belief that we are "not safe", which leads to more or "I don't feel safe" anxietal thoughts... and so we are caught in what I call "The Vicious Circle of Anxiety".

The Wilson Method, through vocal entrainment, physical therapy, core strengthening and breathwork, tones and fires the vagus nerve, our turn-on switch to the para-sympathitec nervous system (rest, relax renew repair). This remediates the feeling of being anxious by sending calming messages back up to the brain - this interrupts the seemingly automatic, unconscious thought-relay patterns (shown by the colours) relaying feelings of personal power, strength, surrender and safety back up to the brain.

We can access and control our Para-Sympathetic Nervous System (PSNS) for feelings of safety and security.
